1960's wizard of oz scarecrow swing set top, Illinoid

Image
Remember the famous Wizard of OZ? Remember the scarecrow named Game-Time? In 1960's, heavy cast iron Game-Time images were put on swing sets at Litchfield Carnival as eye attractions. They were all double faced. Nowadays, these old swing set top are getting really rare. We have a authentic one, weighs over 40 pounds and measures about 27" tall and 18" across. Not broken, but the paint is not so vivid any more due to its age.   We have proudly display it for many years and now it is time to look for a good home for it. We won't ship it so if you are interest come by 211 6th Street, Greenleaf, KS to take a look.

a chicken windmill weight

Image
What is a windmill weight? Look at the horse at one end of the windmill. Windmill weights are typically heavy cast iron animals. Antique collectors use to drive all the way to the country looking to buy old wind mills for their weights. Hummer chicken windmill weights came out in the late 1800's. It has been a wanted collectible item. A real original old one brings about a thousand dollars. However real ones are hard to come by. We have reproduced the hummer style 8 LB chicken windmill weight with cast iron and painted them with rust color paint. They are not antique but certainly give your garden a cool look and make people stop. Please visit our ebay store rustyandweathered .

an atomic barb wire fench repair tool you can put in horse saddle

Image
In 1961, my old friend Richard invented this barb wire fence repair tool. You can hammer nails, pull nails, wrap and strip barb wire with it along your ranch fence. It is small enough to be put in your horse saddle and it won't stick out.   See the hammer head, nail puller and the groves on both sides for grabbing and pulling wire around?   We have some of these made of cast iron. From time to time, we hear somebody claiming he has the antique original of this tool that is older than 1961. That has to be a lie. This was invented in 1961!They must have bought it from us, made it look old and have been trying to scam people.   After what we have made are sold out, we won't make any more of these.     Please visit our ebay store rustyandweathered

bear trap for men cave display

Image
This bear trap looks like any hunter's trap, just bigger and heavier. It itself weighs 25 lb and it needs 600 lb force on each spring to open and set it. Hunting is a very important part of our history and a real bear trap can bring back a lot of memories. Did I say real? Yes, it is a fully functional real trap, newly manufactured. But did I say display only? Yes display only. We do not want people to hurt bear for real. That's why we don't sell the machine that can apply the 600 lb force to set the trap. A real trap for display is a nice education item for your grand children. Search our ebay store rustyandweathered for the key words :3 foot long trap

the female domination culture and smarty pants males

Image
Currently in the US, the culture is gynocentric which means centered on or concerned exclusively with women; taking a female point of view. Men are supposed to be ashamed of being in control of a woman and proud of himself for being control by a woman, typically his wife or his baby's mother. Men can joke about being afraid of his wife in public and not have his reputation damaged. However, if they openly joke about his wife being afraid of him, he is pretty much dead. So we are smart enough to create these two gynocentric cast iron signs for men to display. Happy wife happy life Beware of wife     Ironically, the same men who are proud of being afraid of their wives think they are smart and other people are stupid. So we created another sign for they to rip on others and help them feel good about themselves.

the only professional and traditional anvil hardies

Image
What's an anvil hardy? Everybody who uses a traditional blacksmith anvil knows. It is the small bladed piece that inserts into the anvil through the hardy hole. It stands there with blade upright, allowing the blacksmith to hammer and cut steel sheets on it. Like this one. Or this one. It is not easy to buy a good professional and traditional hardy. So people make there own a lot. Some are neater some are rougher.   We have the old style professional blacksmith hardies made in bulk quantities. Two shaft sizes, same blade width. All of them are quenched to hardness between 56 and 61, tested by meter before coming out of the factory. So you know what you are getting with each blow.   Visit our ebay store rustyandweathered to see more. :0)
